Excellent location and service with too of the notch fascilities, best ski resort of the Alps
Such a beautiful and enormous ski resort! Many slopes, great selection of restaurants. Btw parking outside (5€) is cheaper than in the garage (7€).
Good ski resort, we had a lot of fun there. We systematically had a large queue in the valley in the morning though, as the resort has very few entry points for its size.
Very nice ski resort, variety of pistes with different difficulty. Lot off other attractions like ski parks and "ski jump".
Definitely Alpine Top Class :)
Silvretta in Ischgl is absolutely amazing. So many trams, chairlifts, and runs that one can ski for a week. The views are amazing and snow is perfect. We loved the lodges and restaurants on the mountain. The food quality and selection was great. The Après Ski in Ischgl was phenomenal. Lots of places to eat and celebrate an awesome day on the mountain. We had a wonderful time here with memories for a lifetime.
The ski resort doesn't live up to its fame and high price you pay for entering. The slopes are broad and long but most of them not well prepared. If I pay a premium of around 10% for the lift pass alone I expect better! It's the most expensive I had to buy so far in Austria (not to mention steep accommodation and food prices). The surrounding alpine nature is nice and lifts are very modern.
Looking at the crowd of people who I met there, there are lots of wanna-be, pretentious people with show-off attitude from everywhere in the world. They also go down the slopes in a mad manner without any consideration for others or comprehension/remorse concerning dangerous skiing (locals also complained about it in my presence). The area is very crowded even during normal weekdays, which makes the experience quite tense, thus making the town's motto "relax if you can" quite true.
The ski resort has two parts, Ischgl on the Austrian and Saumnaun on the Swiss side. The latter is usually less busy.
Conclusion: All in all I wouldn't recommend going there, other areas in Austria are at least the same quality for skiing if not even better, yet cheaper. Unless you want to show off that you went to Ischgl to your shallow 'friends' and go shopping for luxury brands, then please go! You'll find lots of your kind.
One of the best ski resorts in Australia/Switzerland/Germany area. The resort is quite broad and you can spend 1 week literally only with ski or snowboarding. The ski area enters into Switzerland as well and you can find tax free shops! But be careful for the tax free route because the last part is flat and it could take a long time for snowboarders to arrive at the gondola. As that gondola is not frequent (once in 10-15 mins) there is possibility that you cannot come back to the area you want to be back. Therefore clear understanding of the map and planning is very important to avoid paying money for expensive taxies and wasting time.
Great view and great course with wide variety. Also nice snowpark is available for those like to play in them. I also recommend to go to a pizzaria in the resort. They offer very good pizza for a lunch break.
Very save and taking very high to the mountains. At the top there are peaks between 2700-2900m. Most routes for kids, top of peaks very rocky (good for climbers with equipment)
